This is just a suggestion, why not keep the head unit where it is and move the two new guages in the lower hole. Your right it is a pain in the butt putitng cd's in when the head unit is mounted so low ( i.e. fox body auto cars). I have seen different companies that make different options for maunting guages in your car. Autometer makes a pod for two guages that sits on top of the dash where the clock once was or would be in an unequipped car. Also www.Floirda50.com makes an entire guage cluster. I am not sure about what they make for the sn-95 cars however. You still lookin for a fuel level guage,I have a 2-5/8" Autometer Silver face for sale, never used but unboxed. Hope this all helps.
