When I was building my motor, and consulting with a friend he mentioned that same trick. 1.7's on the exhaust side, cause thats where the stock heads could use improvment. But I believe he said its only beneficial on stock heads, cause aftermarkets are well, built to perfection (if you will). He said people have been doing it for a long time, but that was the only time i have ever heard that. So who knows......
