I'm not sure about Richmond gears. I would recomend cleaning the housing very well and replace the carrier bearings also. As for the turning torque on the pinion nut, I have a Snap-on turning torque wrench. I'm not sure about the spec right now. I can check when I go to work on Monday.The torque wrench ran about $350 bones.Good luck
