Lightbulb Value vs cheap

'Cheap' auto parts are generally inferior but don't confuse value with 'cheap'.

I generally stick with either Ford parts or well-known aftermarket brands, regardless of price.

There are exceptions. When I needed new axles a few years back, the local Ford dealers wanted over $400. for a pair of stock axles. Yeah, right. When I finished laughing at the counterman I called up Mustangs Unlimited and bought a set of Moser Street axles for $225., complete. Cheaper in price, not in quality.

Sometimes, the high priced part, factory or aftermarket, is simply a rip-off, based on a famous name or simply Ford profit-taking. You don't always get what you pay for.

Caveat Emptor.
