Kevin sorry to hear about your tranny problems, it should be covered under warranty I would think or hope. If 5th gear goes out the only thing I can think of is the syncro for 5th gear or maybe a blocker ring, hanging up. I have about 100 miles on mine now and every thing is great nice and tight, feels better then ever. 4th gear with the 3:73's isn't all that bad

just have to drive about 55-60mph.
