you can get the oil filter off by taking off the front fairing, and it's right in the front of the engine. the drain is underneath. Easy enough... pretty much just like a car!

Lots of people reccommend Spectro oil, I use it as well and it's great, made just for motorcycles. I switched to synthetic at the third oil change.
