MAF testing
Do a code scan.
Look for 26 (bad MAF) or possibly 56 or 66 (MAF too high or too low).
There are other tests but you need more sophisticated equipment.
If it throws a MAF code, replace the sensor.
Meanwhile, a careful cleaning of the MAF hotwire (disconnect battery first, let the wire cool and use a Q-tip moistened with alcohol to clean it, being very gentle) may help, if it's at all contaminated.
