Seems they both have imports, and while they won't race the 99 and above Mustang, they claim to lay waste to every 96-98 GT they see.... It was my call to action...
"Hey guys, I couldn't help but overhear your discussion. What kind of cars do you have?"
Both of them have civics with "chip, intake and exhaust".
"You mean a chip, cold air kit and a muffler with a large exhaust tip"
"Yea whatever..."
"What do you run in the quarter mile?"
"13s"
I chuckle...
"Have you ever been to the track?"
"No, but a guy I know who runs 12s beat me by a carlength..."
"Oh, OK... Well just for your information, until you actually have a timeslip, I wouldn't be quoting quarter mile times. And by the way, I happen to know a guy with a 98 GT who would rape you with 5 people in his car and groceries in the trunk."
"There's no way dude, 96-98 Mustangs are dead slow..."
"Well, whatever you'd like to believe, but to nearly quote Forrest Gump: Mustangs are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll pull up next to..."
With that I walked away and made a mental note to someday move somewhere where people don't recognize my car.

thats sounds about right for this area they all think they can run numbers a hell of a lot faster then they can because half of them dont go to the track and if they did there the ones that try and stage there rear tires. maybe they want a head start or something.....
