Default Unbolting Aluminum heads?

Is there a certain way to unbolt aluminum heads? I was told by a mechanic friend that when you start to unbolt the heads you do it in reverse of the torquing sequence when putting them on. it was to prevent any bending or warpping of the heads. i'm planning to get the heads rebuilt.
Thanks
