Details
With any swap it is all details, have a plan and do not get in a rush.
Probe industries has a big block swap kit for 650 something dollars, and I am sure there are other's that make them also, but they jump out at me right now,ProPower is another good source.
I see no reason for the harness not to work,I think it will be alright,of course you will need bigger injectors, you might want to give Painless Performance a call they are the experts on wiring harnesses and the like and they will tell you if you need to upgrade at all.
Headers either you can go with the Probe kit or have some custom headers done up,I am sure Kooks will be more than happy to bend you a set of headers and their quality speaks for itself.
If you do not have subframes on it,now would be a good time to install them, nothing wrong with a 9 inch rear but why not just upgrade what you have you know 31 splines, axles, diff, bearings seals,if you have a deal cut on the 9 inch go for it.
Sounds like a strong machine,only thing I tell you,have a plan,weigh your options,do your homework,keep frustration at a minimum,and it should be alright.
Good luck with it.
