I'm not sure if they're would be any limits at all by sticking with the hydraulic cam. My engine builder drilled into my head about the not needed a roller cam. I even called around (as always) and asked Comp cams and they agreed that the HP gain is minimal as is the gas mileage. So I choose to go with the hydraulic flat tappet with roller rockers valvetrain. My engine guy was right though. You really don't need them unless you're looking at revving the motor to 6grand all day.
