OK, I'm thinking about buying a new motor next summer. Mine has about 90,000 miles on it now. It burns oil in the lower end and has about 40,000 hard miles

I am looking in Jegs at the Aluminum Head Long Block Engine Assembly/ 302 GT-40 which has 345 HP for $3300. OR the Iron Head Long Block Engine Assembly/302 GT-40P Cast Iron Head which has 270 HP for $2800. What do you prefer, What do you think the difference in 1/4 mile times would be between the 2, and are there any other modifications that need to be done when installing this. My mechanic said that he can install it for about 500 bones does this sound right? thanks for all opinions-
