On my C4 (shouldn't be any different on yours...I think) the front output is where the pump is and the rear is where you want the fluid to go back in after it's been cooled. Hate to tell you this, but I think it's a wate of time to run it through the rad. I tried it last year and didn't like it. Caused too many leaks (but that was because I didn't have the right end on my tranny line that the radiator accepted). Now I am just using a normal cooler in front of the rad and I installed a gauge in the dash. I haven't seen the tranny temp get over 175 yet while driving on the street. Just my .02
