I've seen where a guy used a hacksaw to separate the fuel line from the fuel rail because he couldn't figure out the coupling. That being said, once you get the hang of it, you can do it in your sleep. I think it's worthwhile to post both suggestions. For professional mechanics like James, it's a whole lot easier to just undo the coupling, and leave the rail alone, but for the every day Joe (no offense, Joe

), Chris' suggestion can save them some time and potential headaches.

Think of it this way: have you ever changed the valve cover gaskets on an Infinity J30? Book time is 5 hours for just one. Took me almost 2 days. I could now do it in 3 hours, tops, but that's because I'm familiar with it, but I would never expect a novice to know the "right" way to do everything that's involved, so I might suggest some other options that may not be the quickest method, but will work for them.

Okay, crappy analogy. Nevermind.
