I've had hard shifting into 1st and Reverse in all 5 speed mustangs i've owned and my GT used to do that, until I changed the clutch and put in an adjustable clutch quadrant. It now EASILY goes into every gear. I'd highly recommend getting an adjustable clutch quadrant....much better feel and shifting.
