When you tried to start it the first time, did you get dash lights?

Try and remember this for future reference:

If it won't start, turn on the headlights, and observe them when you try to start it. If they get really dull when you turn the key, the battery needs to be charged. If the shut off when you turn the key, the negative battery cable needs to be cleaned and secured. If they don't change at all when you turn the key, there is a problem with the ignition switch circuit, which includes your clutch safety switch. When this last one is what happens, take the tranny out of gear, turn the key all the way to start, and pump the clutch pedal. If it tries to start, replace the clutch pedal switch. If it doesn't, then verify that you get voltage to the little press-on wire at the starter relay when the key is turned to start. If it does, the problem is either the relay or the starter, and if it doesn't get voltage, then the problem is in the ignition switch itself, or in the column.

See, piece of cake.

Take care,
~Chris
