I too was just going to replace the imput shaft but after a long conversation with Don Jr, he convinced me to replace the countershaft as well. That way you have new meshing new, not a new imput shaft running against a old countershaft, I too realize it was a lot of money but Don Jr said I could go ahead and replace the shaft alone but it most likely won't last and I would be buying another one plus the countershaft in no time. Now 4 years ago I did just replace the imput shaft as my countershaft appeared fine, but with all the new parts mine has now it shifts better then ever nice smooth and strong. Time to bite the bullet and replace it all, I replaced 2nd and 3rd while I was at it because now I have all new gears meshing, and 3rd gear was flat, damn powershifts It will be money well spent, let me know what Don Jr has to say.
