and anyone who's ever run the stock bearing retainer on the T5 has had problems with 'em sooner or later. The steel retainer and a new t/o bearing are a good idea if you're going to have it apart.

Thnx again, no it wasnt riding the throwout, it sometimes squealed when i pushed in the clutch, it didnt do it all the time.

as far as my quadrant, what could be wrong with it if it is a piece of aluminum (d&d piece)? i did check the pins that hold it on, they are intact. over the weekend it is coming apart. i am also pulling the cable to fully inspect it, i remember a post where a guy had his D&D cable fail at low mileage.
