I don't give advice. Here is my opinion

Get a 4/6 cyl car with an automatic. This will be a cheap and solid car. Body style is your choice, notches are more intimidating.
I would gut first, rear end & suspension next, tranny, saftey equipt, then motor. Good luck with what ever decision you make.
