A couple days ago I heard something on talk radio here in C-Bus about an article that was comparing the feelings of the country on Pearl Harbor and 9/11/2001. The thing that really stuck with me is how after Pearl Harbor, the country felt an enormous need to REPSOND. Not that folks didn't feel this to some extent right after 9/11, but it seems more like all we do is talk about the victims and their families. Please don't take this the wrong way here, I too feel very bad for all the people that lost their lives that day and the families that were so directly affected.
I guess I'm still angry that we didn't get to see a bunch of Marines pull that sorry SOB out of some cave and then kill the bastard on National TV! At the very least it would be some sort of closure for our Nation. Maybe in this war against terror we'll never get that. At least with the Japanese, we brought them to their freakin' knees quicker than flies on crap. That was closure.
I guess what I'm saying is that we need to RESPOND with action. This whole Iraqi crap is peeing me off too! The rest of the world just wants to sit around and let Saddam cook up a bunch of never gases, nukes, and rule with a dictatorship until the day comes when he attacks some other country and WE have go in with OUR men and women to clean up the mess. I'm sick of this crap.
But for now, it looks like the 'rest of the world' (read: France, the entire Middle East, the and UN to some extent) thinks we're some big bully trying to start trouble.
Did anyone ever think that maybe we are trying to prevent another 9/11...
Sorry for the rant.
God Bless America.
