My dad and I were hunting one weekend, we owned about 200 acres in BFE, TX. We were driving down a little dirt road next to our property, and out of the woods came the biggest spider I'd ever seen. It was a tarantula almost the size of the steering wheel of my dad's truck. He drove an '86 F-150. Those things don't have small steering wheels. When he ran it over, it was like running over a small animal, you could feel it when he hit it. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in the wild. I have this uncontrollable fear of spiders, yet, at the same time, it is a terrible fascination.
I also have a friend that was bitten by three brown recluses in two months at his job. Once on the hand, once on the back of his right hamstring, and once on the back of his left calf. Talk about needing a new job.
