Question Breaking in an engine

Whaddup,

Now I heard when you get a new engine it is ideal to let it "break in". I would assume that means, not put it under heavy loads like reving the piss out of it and dumping the clutch ( if you had one)...The reason I'm asking is, pretty soon I'll be talking to some salesman at my work about getting a 2002/2003 Mustang GT, black, with black leather interior, MACH audio system, 5spd, sick! My question should be pretty obvious now, [Should I take it easy with the engine for a few 1,000 miles?]

P.S> Never owned a new-new car and I want to take great care of this one!
