It depends on vacuum and how your secondaries are set up. You can modify when they open, too. It wouldn't bog in first or second bacause there is significantly less load on the engine at that point. Take a vacuum gauge along for a ride to confirm this if you want. Smaller jets on the secondaries may be your solution...I dunno but it seems you have the same problem most Holley owners have: you have to keep adjusting it for optimal performance. I went with an Edelbrock and haven't looked back since...but that carb is on the ol' Capri which hasn't been run since last fall. Just my .02
