I'm sure there are people here that will disagree with that but thats my 2 cents worth
When I got this engine a few years ago, I was told it was a '69 block with ported heads and mild cam. Recently I discovered(with the help of PKRWUD) that it's actually a '74 motor. I haven't got the chance to look at the casting numbers on the heads but at this point, I can only assume that they too are also '74 production units.
My car ran strong when I put the engine in about 5 yrs ago.
I blew a head gasket(if you recall) last week and decided to pull the whole engine and start over and put it back together with even a little bit more power this time.
If they are indeed '69 heads then I will keep them, if not, then I need to look for alternatives for the heads I want to use.
