Thumbs down

It happened again where the fuel pump will not turn on after the car gets hot or I have been driving a long distance.

It started right up when it was cold this afternoon. By cold I don't mean temperature, rather I mean it had been sitting since last night and had not been started since. Anyway, I drive a 1/2 hour in 90 degree heat. Come back out to my car and the fuel pump is not coming on. I try my "disconnect the battery for 15 min." trick, but that did not work this time. I finally fooled with it for another 15 minutes and for some reason the fuel pump decided to come on and it fired up.

However that was the beginning of my problems. I was trying to make it home and my radiator gave out. I was in stop and go traffic for 25 minutes and had only gotten about 3 miles down the road. I had the heater on full blast in 90 heat just so the temp gage would go down, but it didn't. When the radiator finally gave way the temp gage shot up like a rocket just under the red mark. I pulled over as soon as I could into a bank parking lot. A lifted the hood and smelled oil burning and my heads were smoking. Not very bad, but they were still smoking and it scared the sh*t outta me. And coolant was leaking out of the bottom of the radiator at the same time. I finally got a hold of someone to pick me up and I decided to have the car towed, because I couldn't limp home with the radiator leaking and the damn fuel pump wouldn't come on again anyway because I think the car had been running for too long and got hot.

I say this, because I never have a problem on my 8 minute drive to work, because the car doesn't get very hot.

Right now I have to decide on what type of radiator to get and I am going to do a compression test in the next couple days to make sure the engine is okay. When I got the car home I filled the radiator with water and since the car had cooled down, it started, and the engine sounded fine but I'm still a little worried I might have damaged it.

This Sucks!!!!
