I think those statistics are all wrong on what color car gets pulled over more. I just wonder how accurate it is. If you look at it this way...
There are probably more red cars on the road than anything else. And there are probably less brown cars on the road than anything else. So, if there are 100 cars in a given stretch of road how many of those do you think are going to be brown? Do you see where I'm coming from here? If 50% of the cars on the road are red, wouldn't it seem that approximately %50 of the tickets handed out would be to people driving a red car?
I have a red Stang and have had my share of encounters with the police, but I drive like a maniac according to my friends so that's a given. I have actually had less tickets in this car than any other car I have owned and this is my first red car. I have had numerous cars, one being an all white 67 Chevelle SS. I got more tickets in that car than any other.
In other words Bowtie... paint the car any color you want. It doesn't matter what other people like in that respect because it's your car. I'd stay with the red and do a ghost flame on it with about 500 flames. Do it with a pearl so only part of the flames show up at different viewing angles. If done correctly the flames will appear to move when the car drives by
