Tremec 3550 & SPEC Stage 2
I just finished installing my Tremec 3550, SPEC Stage 2 clutch and billet steel flywheel yesterday and all I can say is my car feels awesome now. The main reason is when I pulled my old tranny out, I discovered it was actually a 4 cylinder T5!!! I realized this when my new pilot bearing fit kind of loose on the input shaft of the T5. I then found out that the first gear ratio in those is somewhere around 4.00!!! With a 4.10 rear, you could imagine how long 1st gear lasted!! What is even more amazing is that I have made 4 passes on it with slicks dumping the clutch a 5k!! I have a new respect for T5's now.
Anyway, the SPEC clutch is awesome. ZERO chatter and awesome pedal feel. SPEC recommended putting about 500 miles on it before giving it hell, but I doubt I will make it that far. Does that rule not apply with a new flywheel?
