Just get a newer one.  The 2003 looks to be the winner of this year's line up. Not sure about the looks though.. Regardless, good luck with your next bike.
7200 miles since 99? nice.. I don't think I could stay off mine that much. I've logged 7400 so far since June's purchase and those aren't commuting miles.
