yeah, that sux. when i did mine it was the exact opposite. ended up with about a 1/4 inch too much! had to hacksaw it off the distributor to get the hex drive to fit in properly and the distributor to sit flush. i read about it in a 5.0 performance tech manual and every place i called thought i was crazy.
that was the ticket though. nothing else worked.
