holy crap! I didn't realize they went for that much I bought a wrecked '88 GT for $500 and got the whole setup tranny and all with an adjustable cable and billet quadrant plus still had lots of other good parts leftover I would try to find a wrecked car locally that you could get the parts from or buy the whole car there is a little labor involved removing it but it is well worth the $ you will save and when you remove it from the wrecked car you'll know how and where to put it back in your car.
