Well I had the chance to work on my girlfriend's car today after school. srv1, you were right. It doesn't have plug wires, it has the isolators like you were talking about. I pulled off the top cover and checked those, they looked to be ok visually, but I couldn't really tell that good. I pulled all 4 plugs and they were all normal. I had the battery disconnected for about 20 minutes. I started it up after I had it all back together and drove it for a couple minutes.
I now believe it's a computer problem, not a mechanical or spark issue. It runs perfect until about 3500 revs, then it surges up to about 4200 rpm, back to 3700, up to 4200, down to 3700, etc. It did this at full throttle and at part throttle. I can get access to a code puller and I'll pull the codes and see what it comes up with.
