Default Can you jump a car from the starter solenoid?

I just finished re-locating my battery to the trunk, but I don't have an ON/OFF switch installed. This is not a track car (yet) and the Taylor box was given to me. I wanted to clean up the engine compartment and transfer some weight. I am worried about the possibility of the battery going dead someday and not having a place to jump it. The box is way in the back of the trunk and there is no way to reach the posts with cables. Can I use the Starter solenoid? I used 00 gauge welding cable for the install, in case some of you are wondering.
