Not really to "keep him from going"
the only reason the draft would began again is in DIRE NEED. i.e. those damned Canadians took over a state........
Personally, i am 20 and not worried at all about the draft. if things got bad enough to warrant it, i should already be there...
Course... i have a real funny philosophy that comes from the BOOK Starship Troopers. (don't get me started about the damned movie.) For you to be a "citizen" and exercise certain rights like voting, being on juries, and pretty much all other things that involve decision making on any level of the government, you must have served an active term in the military. this would weed out the people that do not care about their nation. my ballot would not be cancelled out by an idiot that knows nothing about civic duty.
and yes, i plan on going into the army or the navy as soon as I’m done with paramedic school.
