I'M BACK ON LINE!!!!!!!!!!!
my pc FRIED Thursday morning....
I was blowdrying my hair and Im'ing, and something went 'pop' and then the screen went black....
I FREAKED OUT!!!!!!!
My first thoughts: DAMMIT!!!!!!!! I STILL HAVE NEVER BACKED UP ANYTHING!!!!!!!! and DAMMIT!!!!!! WHAT IF ITS WASTED??? this IS NOT the time to buy a new one!!!!!!!
Well, someone said it might be my power box thingy...SO LAST NIGHT, I gutted it myself, took it apart! Took the part w/ me to Comp USA..(I dont like them, they are the ones that lost everything for me last year!)
I took the part SPECIFICALLY SO I will get the right one...well guess what? THE GUY GAVE ME THE WRONG ONE!!!!
sooooooooo....i had to go BACK up there and exchange it...
I figured out how to hook it all up, and blew the dust and crap out of it. Then, when I went to put it back together, it would not go! I was like, "WTF"????? BUT...i was putting it back in the tower case UPSIDE DOWN!!!!
i finally got it back together, hooked it up and BINGO!!!!!!!!!! here i am!
BTW: I discovered something while poking around in there....i have 2 EXTRA USB ports I didn't know I had! Now, I can plug EVERYTHING in at once, and I have room for another drive. (not that I need one!) I still dont have any sound though, when I reinstalled Windows last week, my sound went!!!!!! (I dont know where!)
One of the guys from the Cobra Club said hed walk me thru fixing it...I HATE not having my sound, but I dont feel like messing w/ it yet!!! I cleaned it up all real nice...not that it will make it run any better, it allready locked up on me again! BUT...at least I'm back up and DID NOT LOSE EVERYTHING!! I bet i've got many hundreds of pics on it...so, soon, I am gonna give backing it up a shot. I've never done that before!!!
Well, we got a show tomorrow in Kemah, I will post it. Ive been working on my car for the last 2 hours but thats all! I have to wash it in the a.m. and be ready for a 8a.m. departure...I CANNOT OVERSLEEP FOR THIS ONE! We'll be judging...
sorry this is so long...I just had to share it....I guess I'm officially a 'computer giek' now!
