Well man you have to look at it this way, I don't know how much you're paying for those heads but say the new ones are 1250-1300. If you can get them for say 1000 and they're good then lots of places have the tool to cut the pistons in the block. It's a few hour job, the tool is made by Moser that I've seen.
So you could get those heads, pay for them pistons to be cut, and still probably come out on top.
