I fixed the door actuator
The power door lock actuator went bad and I didn't want to spend $90 for a new one so I took the old one apart and fixed it myself. Heres how. Carefully bend the metal back around the plastic electrical connector on the bottom. Remove the retaining ring on top and the collar, there are three tiny ball bearings under the collar,be cautious not to lose them. With these out the spiral rod can be pulled out. Carefully tap the motor out of the housing. The brushes are in the plastic connector on the bottom. With it apart you can clean all the mung out of it and lightly sand the segmentsif the are really rusty.(mine were)Reassemble and peen the metal back around the plastic connector, put the spiral rod back in the top and then the ball bearings and collar and retaining ring. It's basically just a 12 volt motor so it isn't hard once you get it apart. It took about ! hour to work on it while on the bench and about 30 mins to remove/install.Sure beats spending $90.
