I asked the salesman before I bought it and he said it was not a salvage title. In all fairness I know they only had this truck on the lot for a day (it was a trade in), but still I think he shouldn't have told me it wasn't a salvage title if he didn't know for sure.

Thanks again,

I'm not exactly sure how the laws work out there, but I would guess it's basically the same. My ex and I had a similar situation happen. To make a long story short, he bought a corvette from a dealership out here... I got into an accident in it, and when they totaled the car out found out that there was a salvage title on the car. Here it is the dealerships responsibility to give you that information and in fact you sign a form stating you are aware of that. The dealer had only had that car on the lot for a day as well. We went back to the dealership told them this and they made a deal with us really fast. The problem with the salvage title that we learned the hard way is that it's all fine and dandy until you (god forbid) get into an accident. Then insurance companies will NOT pay out what the car is worth if it wasn't salvaged, and you lose thousands. The difference for us was $7,000. The dealership ended up writing us a check for $9,500 when all of that happened hoping that would keep us quiet. Regardless, if I were you I would go back and tell them you don't want the car and threaten them with an attorny if they don't do as you say. What they did I know is illegal here in Illinois, not exactly sure there, but I would assume. Good luck and be tough! Hope this helps a little.
