Thanks for the reply. I will do as you suggested. I advanced the timing to 8 BDTC, and it seemed to respond well.

I think I should have mentioned to that I don't have the stock, point ignition system under the cap. I have an electronic system. I think its called Protronix.

Does this make a difference with the timing?
