What 302 is saying is true. I am not saying it is impossible to achieve good results w/o the aid of a chip. I just think it is money well spent.
If you drop the several grand for a blower setup, the extra couple of hundred was the best way for me (and for many others) to achieve optimum efficiency for their setup.
It allowed me to utilize known optimum fuel and timing curves for my combo.
Translation = Minimal guess work
Is it mandatory? Of course not.

That tweecer rt sure is nice though...
