I would be scared to death to drive a Stang on a long trip if I expected to run into a bunch of snow, even with snow tires. I had to put
360lbs of sand in my hatch just to even make an attempt at getting traction with my Dunlops. It helped a little, but it was still a real experience when I'd run into 3" of snow on the road. If you absolutely must drive the Stang be very careful, and put the sand bags in at the first sign of snow. And remember not to let the car lose its momentum when you are moving through the deeper stuff, otherwise you'll be done.
