I can say for a fact though that Castrol GTX, and Quakerstate sucks! I had the valvecovers off my old 83gt which I ran those two oils and there was allot of sludge (yes... every 3000 miles). I then switched to mobil 1 and after a few oil changes it was clean as a whistle. I had no leaks and it ran better also. The same goes for my 93lx to, I put in mobil 1 in it after 110,000 miles and no leaks plus a better running car.

Run what you want but it will last longer with mobil 1. Even if it does leak.

Your own post kinda proves my point. Mobil 1 cleans out deposits. When the deposits are gone, you are left with empty space. In an engine, where there's empty space, there will eventually be oil.

I don't have and documented facts, just experience. I've seen engines w/ 50k miles start leaking with synthetic oil, and I've seen ones with 150k miles that didn't leak. The difference was in how often their oil was changed prior to switching to synthetic.
