I am running a steeda t/a, stock computer. I was not aware that the EEC-V on the 96-98 GT's was capable of detecting a knock or detionation. I thought only the cobra's came equipped with a knock sensor? or does the EEC-V on the GT's have another method of detecting detionation? I used to run 94 octane and I was told that that was overkill, and I went back to 89 octane, and didn't noticably feel any loss in performance. In fact if anything, i thought maybe a gained a little HP dropping my octane rating. I don't know thats just my seat of the pants feel, it hasn't been dyno proven.

just to be clear thats 14 degrees base timing (stock is 10) so 4 degrees of advance on the adjuster.
