What i did with my GT was i pulled out the carpet and ripped off the heavy insulation attached to the carpet, i also took a heat gun and a scraper and took all the "tar" insulation off of the floor. I probably lost 40 lbs from that and the with the carpet in you can't tell i took out anything except for the increased road noise and heat transfer from the exhaust, also taking out the spare tire/jack and carpet mat will lighten your car. any little bit helps.
