I here ya , I really do. When I put my vic jr on my windsor in my comet, I thought I just couldn't do it with a flat hood, which I really like, enough that I would have put the torquer back on if I couldn't get it to work. I used a k/n droped base 14" round unit. Its so low the vent tubes put dents in the lid! (make sure they're cut at a angle), if the hood closes with out a air cleaner, I think this will work for you.
