Go for the long tubes, 1 5/8 if mostly street driven and does not see over 5,500 rpm very often, 1 3/4" for the serious car that sees the track more often and sees higher rpm more often than not. The MAC shorty's are BARELY adequate for stock heads. Have you ever looked into the header flange? Man that is a small port. Any aftermarket head will have a bigger exhaust port than what the MAC shorty has for a opening into the header. So the header is actually a restriction to the head. Deffinetly better than the stock headers, but not near as good as a true long tube.
