depends on what you want a 302 will spin higher and faster than a 393 but on the street there will be no comperison at the track a modified high winding 302 will run strong
so if you have some of the parts or , How your going to use the car will decide alot.
IO would suggest a 393 , boxed upper intake ( gives better top end boost at some loss of low end torque)large intercooler
280 degree 512 lift solid roller cam and adjustable boost gauge will get you into the high 9's
also trans has alot to do with a 9 second car .
my car has a shudder that off of the line freakes me out
it twists and bucks , we tried new slicks and whoa traction launch lift almost wet pants. I never thought old slick would cause all the problems we were having.
