It's not your ignition module. If you can start it by crossing the posts on the relay, and you know the relay is good, then the relay isn't getting a signal from the key. Could be the ignition switch or the clutch switch, but since you bypassed the clutch switch, I would lean towards the ignition switch. First verify that the relay trigger wire is not getting any voltage when the key is turned to the start position. If it's not getting any, then look into the ign. switch.
As far is getting an MSD, unless your car was built in the 1980's, your factory ignition system is as good, if not better. Fords capacitive discharge ignition systems were standard when MSD was still analog! Certain modifications justify spending the money on an aftermarket box, but usually the owner knows it by the time they get there. List your car info, including year and mods, in your signature, and then people can offer advice more suited to you specifically.
