I had to change mine out a few months ago. Luckily, mine let go when I cranked her up one morning before work. Freaked the hell out of me...the whole car just started rattling. Since I wasn't rolling when she let go, there was no damage to anything else.
I thought the same thing happened a few weeks ago, but it turns out I lost 3 blades off of my Black Magic.
What a PITA to remove the fan blade assembly!!! I ended up drilling holes on either side of the fan shaft and pulled that sucker apart!
