I agree that it could be a test, and besides, if you stick with it, the reward can be so much more. If you hang on, and get the car back to at least a decent condition, and then compare it to the pic you posted, I would bet you'll be happy that you stuck with it. And if not, you have a chance to sell it for enough to break even. (Counting that youre not going to have to do a lot more high dollar work to get it back to roadworthy)
