Pull the tranny or lift the block?
Hey guys, I noticed that my rear main seal is leaking on the '79 so I gotta get my lazy butt out there and correct this problem b4 it gets too cold out there.
What I found out that I don't know, though, is if the rear main seal on the pan on the '87 351W block is separate from the pan gasket or not. Will I be able to just pull the tranny and change the rear main seal or will I end up having to unbolt the motor mounts and lift the engine and replace the entire seal/gasket? It's not leaking anywhere else (is totally dry all the way around the pan except the back).
